Lune

You’re grounded by the bounds of gravity

Held closely to the land

This mortal coil strangles you tighter

Forever flowing with no end

You reign in and then lose all control

With each passing sun

Waxing, waning, indiscernibly

And thus the game’s begun

The force that brings out your wild

Caresses you to sleep

Cooing carefully until it’s time to wake

Good morning, waves ever steep

Take in this celestial ambrosia and know

I’m your moon within

I know you long for my loving perigee

So darling, is it sink or swim?
