Craters

I’m the sun and moon

I shine in the day

And fill craters with tears in the afternoon

I’m the stars in the sky

I hide in the day

And shine silently in the dead of the night

I’m a deep red sin

I pull you in cunningly

Gentle traces of fingertips on your skin

You've never seen a sight quite like this

You think I’m yours to hold onto

But I’m no one's bliss.

I love swiftly and it always fades away

Each dead star, a souvenir

Yet I wonder

Could you be the one who makes it stay?

I desperately don’t want to admit

That it's all I want

You and I, ocean facing, moonlit

Be my sun, and moon, and stars

And though I’m a wild you can’t reign in

I promise I’ll make the cosmos ours
